I Was Offered N30,000 To Convey A Kidnapped Woman Into The Bush (photo}

A 24-year-old commercial motorcyclist who confessed to being a member of a kidnap syndicate that specialised in abducting their victims from Ogun and Lagos states, has been arrested by men of the Ogun State Special Anti Robbery Squad. The suspect, Taiwo Akilo, was arrested at the weekend while on the verge of taking the syndicate’s female victim to their hide out inside a bush around Imodi- Ijasi, along Ijebu-ode/Ikorodu road. The captive, one Mrs Abosede Adenuga, was reportedly abducted at about 10.50pm, around Ikorodu area of Lagos, last Sunday.

POLICE BOSS SPEAKS

Explaining how the suspect met his Waterloo, Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Mr Val Ntomchukwu, said: “The Ogun State Police Command has intensified efforts to tackle challenges of kidnapping in the State, particularly, in Ijebu axis as the Special Anti Robbery Squad of the command ambushed and arrested a member of a kidnap gang that abducted one Mrs Abosede Adenuga, from Lagos State on 16th March 2015 at 1050pm.

‘’The SARS operatives of the command deployed to police the Ibefun/Ikorodu road where some suspected kidnappers operate and hide their captors, were informed of the kidnap case by some informants. They said the gang was heading to Ijebu axis to hide their captor. The kidnappers met their Waterloo when they were ambushed by the police at Imodi -Ijasi along Ijebu Ode/Ikorodu road

‘’On noticing the presence of policemen, the kidnappers jumped on a motorcycle to escape. They were given a hot chase by the operatives who used another motorcycle to pursue them. During the process, one of them, Tunde Akilo, was arrested while the woman was rescued. The following items were recovered from the gang: one locally- made, cut-to-size double barrell gun loaded with one live cartridge, four live cartridges, a Volkswagen car with Reg No MUS 471 AU used by the kidnappers and assorted charms.”

I WAS OFFERED N30,000

Speaking with Crime Guard, the suspect disclosed that he was offered N30,000 for the botched kidnap by one Ahmed whom he said was the leader of the gang. The father of two who blamed his indulgence on poverty, stated that he was into aluminium business before he diversified to commercial motorcycle (okada) in order to eke out a living.

HOW WE CARRIED OUT THE OPERATION

According to Akilo who had a scorpion tattoo on his left arm: “ Yes, I was arrested by the police inside the bush. I was hired by Ahmed who is the head of the gang. He called me on Sunday around 9.30pm, to convey a woman to the bush. On reaching the meeting point , I met four other persons.

While they went to kidnap the woman around Ikorodu, I was asked to watch out for any intruder. After they succeeded in kidnapping her, we drove to Imodi- Ijasi . On the way, Ahmed stopped the car and shot at the tyre. He instructed me to drive the woman on the motorbike to a designated point inside the bush. We blindfolded our victim and ordered her to mount the bike. I drove the motorbike while the woman sat between me and another member of the gang.

END OF THE ROAD

As I was about leaving, Ahmed sighted a motorcyclist coming. He hijacked the motorcycle and also drove inside the bush. But all of a sudden, we sighted some policemen who ordered us to stop but we did not. In the process of trying to run away from the policemen, I missed my way inside the bush. Unfortunately, I was arrested while others who were conversant with the terrain escaped, leaving me at the mercy of the policemen.

“This is my first time of joining them. I was tempted by the payment of N30,000. Ahmed owns the motorbike. All I was instructed to do was to drive the woman inside the bush . He said he would pay me after ransom was paid by the woman’s family.”

The command boss stated that efforts were still on to apprehend other fleeing members,even as he commended members of the public for availing the command with information. He reiterated the command’s commitment to always provide adequate security for lives and property of people in the State.

75-Year-Old Herbalist Sexually Assaults 12-Year Old Boy

The Abia state police command has arrested a 75- year-old herbalist, Odinkemere Ogbuehi, for allegedly sexually assaulting a 12-year-old boy.
According to Punch report, the herbalist, who hails from Abia state took the boy without the consent of his parents and was having sex with him the anus for three days.
The police said the suspect confessed to the crime during interrogation, adding that he was having sex with other little boys in the village.
According to the Commissioner of Police, Joshak Habila, who paraded the suspect in Umuahia on Friday with other suspected criminals, the incident occurred on March 8, 2015.
“He confessed that he sexually assaulted the little boy between 7th and 9th March 2015,” the police commissioner said.
Joshak added that that the suspect said he had been having homosexual relationship with the boy any time he came around to his house.
He further stated that the villagers had previously warned the boy against visiting the herbalist’s house, and expressed surprise that the boy strolled into his house again.
However, during an interview with journalist, the herbalist denied having any sexual intercourse with the victim.

A woman has bitten off the penis of her friend’s cheating husband who tried to have sex with her during a picnic while his wife was away. The excruciating pain felt by the 53-year-old Florin Ionita left him screaming ‘call and ambulance, it’s going to fall off!’. According to Mirror UK, the man was found by his wife with his trousers around his ankles clutching his private parts and moaning in pain in a local park in Chisinau, the capital of the Republic of Moldova. She said, “I was at a picnic with my husband and some friends and I left to take some of them home in our car, leaving him behind with one friend. “When I came back I saw him with his trousers around his ankles clutching his private parts and saying ‘ Call an ambulance, it is going to fall off’.”

On quizzing to know what really transpired, the 49-year-old woman identified as Maria was shocked to hear that her husband had made sexual advances on her friend who out of anger, bit off his penis. He was rushed to a hospital thereafter where he is receiving care at the casualty unit. It was learnt that the man seized the opportunity of his wife’s absence to show the friend what his manhood really looks like in his bid to lure her to get down with him but disappointingly, he got the opposite of what he bargained for as he had the exposed penis bitten off.

The man’s wife who claimed to have forgiven him said, “As he was only trying to do what all men try to do, but when I called the ambulance I didn’t do it too fast, and I told them not to hurry.” According to her, she intentionally gave the ambulance drivers a shoddy direction on how to locate the man who was waiting in pains.

The friend who is a 24-year-old woman filed a report to the police against the man, accusing him of attempted assault. The sex pervert now risks five years jail term after his release from the hospital and after investigations must have been concluded. He told his wife: “I just wanted to pass the time pleasantly.”

The victim according to the press officer of the Chisinau City Police Department, Adrian Jovmir said she bit the man on the penis because she believed it was the best way to keep off advances.

"The idea of Boko Haram or anyone aligning themselves with ISIS is frightening partly because these are groups that represent a lunatic fringe in Islam and who are very ruthless. We have had more than six years of Boko Haram , about 15,000 people dead, prospects of them getting financial support, military support from a group as ISIS basically frightens all of us" he said

The Emir said he is not scared of being killed if that would be the ultimate prize to pay to have peace return to the North East. According to him, he has achieved all he wants to achieve...

INEC Ready for next week election -Jega

Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof Attahiru Jega says the electoral body is ready to conduct the general elections which starts next week Saturday March 28th.

At a meeting with some Civil Society bodies in Abuja today, Prof Jega said the time provided by the postponement has helped the commission articulate its plan for the conduct of a successful election"We believe very strongly that the period of the extension has been put to good use and it has added value and obviously we would be able to do a much better election and it also enforced our belief that the elections for 2015 will be remarkably better than the 2011 elections and in fact we believe it will be the best election in Nigeria's history" he said.

He however raised concerns over the security of INEC staffs and NYSC members who would be working during the election days"Clearly security remains an issue of concern particularly securing the staff of INEC as they are being deployed or as they are conducting the elections and also protecting the election environment" he said

GOV.FASHOLA CHARGES NIGERIANS TO VOTE OUT BUHARI IF HE FAILS TO PERFORM

            

Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State yesterday charged Nigerians to vote out the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.), if he fails to perform in his first term if he is handed the mandate on the 28 of this month. Fashola, who spoke at an interactive session Buhari had with youth groups and students at the Muson Centre in Lagos, urged the youths to defend their votes, which he said did not mean fighting and being violent, but to wait until their votes were counted.

Noting that the time had come for people to vote for performance, he noted that those who were first given the mandate and failed to perform should be kicked out through the ballot box. “Vote and defend your votes. It does not mean you should fight. Wait until your votes are counted. Nobody, armed or unarmed, has the right to stop you from voting. It is your right,” he said.

The Governor wondered why a federal government that promised to improve technology would be afraid of the use of card readers for elections. He asked why it supported issuance of Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs, in the first instance.

He encouraged the youths to know that this was the best time to change a poor-performing federal government, adding that by so doing, they would make history as the first generation to have changed a bad government through the ballot box in Nigeria. “If you agree that your country is not doing well and you want to change it, it will be the first time a bad government is changed by the people in Nigeria. If you elect Buhari and Osibanjo, you will have succeeded in changing a bad government and if Gen. Buhari and Osinbajo did not perform, you should vote them out,” he said.

While stressing that integrity and untainted records distinguished the Buhari/Osinbajo candidacy, the APC stalwart noted that, "I have said this to help you make informed decision and not on the basis of what your friend chooses. Buhari is contesting because past leaders have failed to keep their promises".

The Paris-based Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development said there was strong evidence that playing computer games on handheld consoles like Nintendo DSs and Sony PSPs had 'positive effects on learning'.

It said many games 'incorporate good learning principles' and can 'hone problem-solving skills'.

Students who play one-player video games between once a month and almost every day perform better in mathematics, reading, science and problem solving than students who hardly ever play games, the OECD said.

My picture and that of my daughter, Purity in a Lagos train has surfaced online and quite a number of people have asked me what I was doing in a train and in Lagos for that matter; not Paris or London.

I was around Iddo at Ebute Metta when my Range Rover developed a mechanical fault and I had to make a very important appointment in Ikeja regardless of the usual traffic congestion in Lagos. Luckily, a member of my management team was around, he suggested a train ride and we were in Ikeja in less than 30 minutes but that is not the crux of this statement.
